What I Liked
The story is very compelling. I’m very particular about what types of dramas I enjoy – many of them being much too dramatic. This one was pretty mellow. The characters were also believable, so in combination with a story that sucks you in, I was pretty much glued to the screen the whole time. Also, there were lots of boobies, and Maggie Gyllenhaal is hot.
What I Didn’t Like
Though I put ‘not being too dramatic’ as a positive, the mellow and anticlimactic storyline is also kind of a downer. It’s one of those movies where you finish watching and feel like, “Wait, the story is over? Nothing really happened.”
Don’t get me wrong, it was far from a bad movie. 7/10 is a very good score I think. It’s just not something I’d rave about.
Other Stuff
It’s a good movie I’d recommend for an evening by yourself, or for you and a movie buff friend. An all around good movie, but nothing that makes me think, “Wow”. Maggie Gyllenhaal is a great actress and I enjoy watching her stuff.
