Netflix is starting to gain a reputation as a company that loves to bring old shows back to life, and “Jericho” could be the latest show that Netflix brings back from the grave. In addition to other shows such as “Arrested Development”, Netflix is trying to cash in on some cancelled shows that seem to have cult followings. Jericho was a CBS television series about what happens to the town of Jericho, Kansas after mulitple weapons of mass destruction are detonated in the United States. Neither CBS nor Netflix have decided to comment on the matter, but there definitely seems to be something going on behind the scenes.
One of the main sources of information for this possible CBS and Netflix connection is actually CBS CEO, Les Moonves. He gave a hint to certain analysts in February that CBS could be working on producing a show for Netflix. Fans of the TV series “Jericho” have been begging for a continuatino of the show for a few years, so there will be plenty of people who have something to cheer about if this deal goes down.
“Jericho” was around for two seasons on CBS, but it was cancelled after ratings started to decline. Although there were not many fans of the show while it was on the air, plenty of people have watched the show on Netflix and found it to be rather captivating. Discussions about bringing new episodes of the show to Netflix are only in the early stages of development, but this could turn out to be a great decision for the company if the deal goes through.
