The movie streaming giant Netflix has targeted its next batch of potential customers and come up with an offer designed to entice them away from their normal surroundings.
Yes, the chaps at Netflix are offering two free movie tickets to new customers who sign up to their streaming movie service, on the proviso that the new subscribers download at least 3 movies or TV programmes from Netflix during their initial trial period. With the ‘free trial’ costing just $1 it seems like this can be a fantastic way of potential customers taking advantage of a keen offer, the value of each movie ticket is anything up to a maximum of $13.
The bods at Netflix have really done their homework by targeting movie going fans, and offering them the opportunity to sample an all-inclusive move and TV subscription service. Many different multiplex cinema companies have already reported that they are coming under increasing pressure to fill their cinemas, even when the biggest Hollywood blockbusters come out; such has been the effect of the monthly movie streaming services that are provided by companies such as Netflix and similar.
Visiting the movies experience
Perhaps even the most ardent of movie goer might well be tempted away from their popcorn and comfy seating in favour of being able to watch an unlimited amount of movies or TV programs, all for less than $8 per month. That will be the hope from Netflix, in that they can provide a real alternative to the ‘visiting the movies experience’, although there is still a lot to be said for watching the very latest movies as soon as they are released to the silver screen; especially if an individual is lucky enough to live near one of the spectacular I-Max venues.
The offer comes at a similar time to the one that has been launched by competitor Google with their offers Application for the iPhone; it would appear that they don’t want to miss out on any slice of the action that might be available.
Future offers to include soda, popcorn & hotdog?
Perhaps for their next ‘trick’ the nice people at Netflix can put together an offer than includes the soda, the popcorn and also the mandatory hotdog; now that would really be a sure fire winner in any attempt to prise, well in my humble opinion any way!
It will be an interesting time ahead for Netflix, especially if they can pick up a large number of movie goers and add them to their already huge customer base.
