The Gist (Minus Spoilers)
A guy in the witness protection program decides to go back to LA after his girlfriend (whom he loves so very much) lands a job there. There’s lots of fast cars, some pretty funny jokes, and an all around good story.
What I Liked
I’m a sucker for romcoms and cars movies, so it’s no wonder I liked this one. Dax Shepard was in Idiocracy but I did not remember that til I looked him up for this review. He was really good as the ‘sweet boyfriend with the checkered past’, and I think believable as both a nice guy and a reluctant badass. I’m now a fan.
I’ve never been a real fan of Kirsten Bell but she was also cute in this movie, enough that I would watch another movie just because she was in it.
The story was simple, but fun. I felt my emotions swaying along with movie, laughing at jokes and getting that sinking feeling at sad parts. I really enjoyed this film.
What I Didn’t Like
What’s the deal with Bradley Cooper’s hair in this? Was is supposed to be a joke or really try to make him look like a criminal? It was hard for me to not look at them.
When to Watch
This is definitely a watch anytime movie. I saw it in the afternoon/evening and had a good time, but it could also be something to watch when you’re sick or feeling down. I wouldn’t watch it late at night or when you’re tired because it’s a waste of a good comedy.
Outside the USA and cant’ get Netflix? Fix that problem with a US IP.
