Ugh.
I watched 3 movies in the last three days that I couldn’t finish. Rather than write a whole review telling you about how I didn’t like them, I’ll just get it over with in one post.
1) Interview with a Hitman
A real yawn-fest independent, artsy type movie that’s supposed to make you feel sympathy for the hitman. I got about 10 minutes in and was extremely disinterested in the story. Good idea, but it’s been done before, and I’m burned out on independent movies for the time being.
2) Best Laid Plans
A British version of Of Mice and Men in an urban setting. The retarded people are not that believable, and I did not feel sorry for the thuggish character. I also had no feelings towards the retarded couple. I assume that the male retard kills someone accidentally before the end of the movie, but that’s just a guess.
3) The Cottage
This one started out pretty good, with David Arquette looking and sounding a lot like Ryan Gosling. But everyone else in this movie was unimpressive and the plot was pretty predictable. Good try on Arquette’s part, but I only wanted about 20 minutes during lunch, and would rather watch something else next time I sit down. To be fair, I’m still a little bit curious to find out if he was a pedophile or just on a power trip, so I may watch more at a later date and give it a second try.
>>> American Netflix is awesome. If you’re outside the US, you can use a VPN service to access it.
